I am a restaurant cook & student artist living in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I make art because I love to consume it---I'm obsessed with the complex, unintelligible sensations we experience when we listen to our favorite music, eat great food, or view a beautiful and intriguing visual work.Â
Music is my drug of choice---I think it must be the purest joy to create and play music, and for that music to make somebody dance. I relate to a similar joy in the culinary industry: to craft a dish for a customer, and for them to be so content as to lick their fingers, manners notwithstanding. My ultimate goal is to find how I can garner that same pure joy with my works.
In January 2025, I made the decision to forgo a fine arts degree in the pursuit of a decisive, no-holds-barred career in the culinary world. Art's place in that journey hasn't changed---for me the two passions are invariably tied---only now, where I invest in a "formal" education happens to be where I see myself full-time: the kitchen!
